So very thankful...

I hope all of my U.S. friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. I know I sure did! We had family here for the day and shared a wonderful meal (I am still in a food coma), played some fun games, and reflected on all of the blessings that we enjoy! I am truly thankful for so much!

One of the things that I am thankful for is my Close to my Heart family. I was privileged to be able to attend an event in Utah a couple weeks ago for Directors. It was not only a great time of learning, but I was also blessed to be able to spend some time with CTMH sisters that I don't get to see very often.

Two of the wonderful people I was blessed to be able to spend extra time with were Amy McGrew and Brenda Rose. These ladies are so incredibly talented and creative and they are both such sweet, caring gals. Imagine my surprise to open up my mailbox this week to find some “happy mail” from each of them. They both sent me such beautiful cards that I had to share them with you.

This first card was created by Brenda Rose. You MUST check out her blog. This girl has some crazy, awesome talent! I just love the fun cluster of flowers and leaves with the adorable owl tucked behind. Brenda used the Pathfinding paper, Pathfinding Assortments, and Lifetime of Happiness stamp set. Thank you sweet Brenda!!! xoxo

This next card was created by Amy McGrew. Amy is such an amazing gal. She is an inspiration to me in so many ways. I LOVE spending time with her at CTMH events and incentive trips! I wish she loved closer to me, although if she did, we’d surely get into trouble with too much shopping and too much crafting. (Although is there REALLY such as thing as too much crafting? LOL.)  Be sure to check out Amy’s awesome blog.

Amy also used the Pathfinding paper, which is one of my favorites.  She used the Thankful Heart stamp set and some Sparkle Flourishes as well. Thank you Amy! Love you my friend! xoxo

Would you like to see a few photos from our Team Builders event? I didn’t take many photos during the class sessions, but I did take a bunch during the extra fun “spoiling” time that CTMH blessed us with.

This is a photo of my roomies. I brought them each a matching pair of jammies. I made shirts that had all of our names on them in addition to some fun CTMH words such as: creativity, heart, friends, scrapbooks, ink, and Sticky Boy. (You’ll find out more about “Sticky Boy” soon!)

Check out the SUPER cute name tags we each received!
LOVE that each one was handmade and hand-penned!

A little peek at our agenda and cute pen we were given.

We were each given a beautiful scarf to keep us warm. (Let me tell you that this Southern CA girl was SOOOO grateful for this gift! It was cold!)

CTMH had the Waffle Love truck come on Friday.
BEST. WAFFLE. EVER! Enough said!

Oh yes! They had table massages and chair massages. Can you say “Pampered?” Man, this guy was good!!

This was the whole group that attended. What an amazing group!
I LOVE MY JOB! *Ü*

November Stamp of the Month Card Set

Close to my Heart’s November Stamp of the Month called It’s the Little Things is a really fun set. I created this card as part of a card set to share during my presentation at the CTMH Convention a few months ago to show the versatility of the Fall themed Pathfinding Collection. I really love the Glacier and Chocolate color combination. You would never know that the paper came from a Fall themed collection. I stamped the leaves from It’s the Little Things SOTM on some White Daisy cardstock and then cut them out with CTMH’s Micro-Tip Scissors. The flowers were cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

To make the card above, I started with a piece of 11" x 4¼" Chocolate cardstock and scored it in half. I trimmed off  2¼" from the top front of the card leaving a 2" flap in the front. I then matted a piece of 4" x 5¼" White Daisy cardstock on the inside and a piece of 1¾" x 5¼" patterned paper on the front panel. I stamped the sentiment on the top right in Chocolate ink and added the die cut flowers, the trimmed out leaves, and a few Gold Bling Gems on the front panel to finish it off.

This is what the whole card set looks like. (I used this set as inspiration for my July project kit here, which you can still order.)

I embellished a Journaling Card Box to hold all of the cards and envelopes.

Here are the other cards that are in the set. The other products I used to make them are the Floral Embossing Folder,  Lifetime of Happiness stamp set, Spring Banner stamp set, and scallop border punch.

So, what do you think? Do you love the November Stamp of the Month as much as I do? Did you know that you can get it for just $5 with a $50 order? But hurry. This set is only available through November 30th.

She Art

I attended a Close to my Heart Leadership Event this past week and among the great training, amazing food, and fun fellowship time, we also had a some creative time. One of the projects that we made was a canvas “She Art” project. I have always admired others “She Art,” but have been scared to try it myself. When  found out that we were going to make one at this event, my first thought was that I was terrified, but as I got into the process of actually making the project, I had SO MUCH FUN!

These types of projects are very fun, whimsical, and somewhat busy, which I always admire in other designer's projects, but is totally out of my “cleaning & simple” comfort zone. However, I could continue working on this particular canvas for another week by adding more stamped images, paper pieced patterns, etc, but I decided to stop where I was and share it with you. All of the stamps, inks, papers, cardstock, markers, sparkles, and even the canvas is from Close to my Heart.

So what do you think? Would this be something that you’d like to try? I must say it was very freeing and very fun!!!

Holiday Open House

Join us for a special Holiday Open House on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at my home in Temecula, California from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. (Contact me for address.) If you are not local and would like to purchase some of the cards from the card buffet or custom jewelry from the jewelry buffet, let me know and I will be happy to send you a PayPal invoice and mail them to you.

This will be an open house style event, so you may come and go as you please. There will be three great options for you including an “All-You-Can-Make Card Buffet,” a Custom Jewelry Buffet, and a special Clearance Sale of my Cash and Carry items. This is a great time to make custom holiday gifts, fun Christmas cards, and buy CTMH products at discounted prices your yourself or as gifts for your “crafty” friends and family!

Christmas Card Buffet

Make as many of each card as you like. There will be at least 6 (possibly more) different card designs. (See photos above for some of the cards we will be making.) The cards will be $1.50 each and will include an envelope. You may make as many as you like, but please note that they will be on a first come, first served basis, so if you come later during the event, the card designs that you like may be gone. All you need to bring is adhesive and I will provide the rest including pre-cut cardstock, stamp sets, blocks, ink pads, etc.

Custom Jewelry Buffet

Bring your own 1" x 1" or 1" x 1½" photos or use one of the many fun designs that I will have available to create your own necklace pendant or bracelet cuff. There will be a variety of shapes and colors (silver, gold, square, oval, rectangle) available along with lots of different charms to add on if you like. The pricing will be as follows:

$3 - pendant (includes design of your choice and glass cover)
$6 - 30" gold or silver chain
$1 - charms
$5 - bracelet cuff

Make as many as you like and create your own custom look with the a-la-cart pieces.

Cash and Carry Clearance Sale

Purchase new and gently used stamp sets, paper packets, Workshop Kits, embellishments, ribbon, adhesive, home décor items, albums, ink pads, blocks, and MUCH more at special clearance prices!

Contact me if you have any questions, would like more information, or if you plan to join us. Did I mention that everyone who attends will receive a free Seasonal Expressions Mini Idea Book? You won’t want to miss this fun event!
